
Demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability, community service, and value-based education, Deepshikha Teachers Training College, Sitapura, Jaipur proudly participated in the historic “Ek Ped Ek Zindagi” campaign, a landmark initiative aimed at planting 75 lakh (7.5 million) saplings across Rajasthan. The plantation drive was organized on the college campus with enthusiastic participation from Principal, all faculty members, administrative staff, non-teaching staff, and students, reflecting the institution’s dedication to creating a greener and healthier environment.
The programme commenced with an inspiring address by Principal, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the vital role educational institutions play in promoting sustainable development. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Every tree planted today is an investment in the future of humanity. As educators and future teachers, it is our responsibility to inspire environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices in society. By nurturing nature, we are nurturing life itself.” He encouraged every participant to plant, protect, and preserve trees for the benefit of future generations.
As part of the campaign, a wide variety of indigenous and environmentally beneficial saplings were planted across different locations on the campus. Principal, faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in the plantation drive, demonstrating their collective commitment to environmental protection. All participants pledged not only to plant trees but also to ensure their proper care and maintenance so that the saplings grow into healthy, life-sustaining trees. The event inspired students to become environmentally conscious educators who can motivate future generations to adopt sustainable practices.
